All Hail Gears of War 3

If you haven't had a chance yet to play Gears of War 3 than I feel sorry for you. This game is by far the best game to come out so far this year. It's great to see that the first release in the soon to be greatest holiday season for video games not only met expectations, but blew right past them. With such great games coming up like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Modern Warfare 3, and Battlefield 3; I could understand some hesitance in buying Gears 3. Especially after the terrible job Epic did on the second game's multiplayer; but I have to say Gears 3's multiplayer is just as good, if not better than Gears 1.       The multiplayer has been finally been balanced. No more lagging around due to your Mexican host, no getting knocked on your ass forever by some stupid smoke grenade, and finally no more two-piece. The shotgun has also been made perfectly and the maps adjusted to the perfect 5v5 size. Not only ...

Lions Destroy Vikings in Overtime Rally

Its hard to picture a city that could use some good news more than Detroit, MI. So it was great earlier when the Detroit Lions managed to rally from 20 point deficit in the second half against the Minnesota Vikings to win 26-23. Not only did they manage to come back on an unchallenged 23 point run, they did it at Minnesota's Metrodome. Calvin Johnson made the big play catches as well, including 2 touchdowns and the 40 yard reception that got Jason "Ol' Reliable" Hanson  in field goal range to win in OT. This is the first time the Lion's have beat the Vikings in 13 years!! So all you Lions fans out there enjoy the rest of your beautiful Sunday and get pumped for what should be the best Lions football season in decades!!

Mary Jane's Freedom

Marijuana does not have a very good stigma in the United States. It has been used for centuries without much incident or turmoil; but the last 100 years have been quite the opposite for cannabis. Cannabis, or hemp as it was more commonly referred to, has been used by tribal leaders and spiritual shamans forever to cure illnesses and pains. Its influence even stretches all the way to the Declaration of Independence, which was written on a piece of hemp paper. Back in the late 1700’s it was grown for a wide plethora of uses including such necessities as writing paper, rope, oil, clothing, and even shoes. That’s not even to mention the list of medical ailments that cannabis can help treat and even cure. Even though cannabis has all these well-known uses, the new century brought about a propaganda campaign against marijuana that rivals that of the Third Reich. Born out of the racism brewing within the American people and the distrust of foreigners, the government decided to jump ...

Comedian by Day, Rapper by Night?

So the other day I was on  www.stumbleupon.com , the best website ever, and I happened to stumble across this music video by Childish Gambino . For those who don't know who this guy is, it is  Donald Glover  who plays Troy Barnes on the very successful T.V. show  Community . He also was a writer for the Daily Show and 30 Rock . But what many people don't know is that when he isn't writing, acting, or performing comedy, he is also keeping rap alive. His ability to rap so casually and honestly is completely refreshing and just what the game needs. Also you gotta admit he's pretty clever. So download his music, buy it off Itunes, spread the word, and remember he has a new c.d. titled  Camp  dropping under  Glassnote Records  November 15!!

Greetings

Welcome to the Enlightener, my name is Adam Sanders and I am going to be your new guide through the world. This blog will serve the purpose of informing people on important issues, world events, music, movies, art, philosophy, and pretty much anything that seems interesting or fun. The most important part of this project is that people get to enjoy learning about what they want to. So the community will be just as important as the writer himself. Anything that you as readers would like to learn more about or just something you want to talk about, you can simply comment or message me whatever it is. I'll then research and talk about it here for all to see and join in. I will also periodically find important and interesting things that I believe people should be aware of and know about. So I hope you enjoy this blog and are excited to learn how to live an enlightened life.
